The MultiRAE has a vast array of possible gas sensor configurations. With 30 different sensor options including the PID and NDIR, there are options to meet most any application. Additionally, the sensor panel of the MultiRAE Lite Monitor has been well designed for field work and simple operation. Easily changed, the sensors do not need to be recalibrated (making the unit virtually plug-and-play ready), nor is there a complicated interface for the user.
The MultiRAE Lite is a sophisticated and powerful tool for potentially hazardous confined space work and gas. Yet the straightforward user interface and easy-to-read LCD screen make operation highly intuitive. The LCD screen orients itself to the direction the monitor is being held to make reading the MultiRAE easy even in tight spaces.
In the field, the MultiRAE Lite can be linked via the wireless option to the RAE Systems’ Dedicated Wireless Network. The MultiRAE Lite feeds data to the command center where safety officers and emergency responders can increase their time to the scene if problems on the jobsite occur.
An added feature of the MultiRAE series is the Man Down Alarm which is the first of its kind in the industry. An added safety measure, the Man Down Alarm detects the amount of time that the monitor is motionless via its internal motion sensor. If the worker is completely motionless for a set amount of time, the alarm sounds locally alerting workers around the area. If the monitor is connected to the wireless network, the alarm will also sound at the command center alerting safety team members there. This alarm is highly configurable and can be enabled or disabled depending upon your jobsite usage.
The MultiRAE Lite Monitor has the option for the 10.6eV ppm PID reading 1-1000 ppm with a resolution of 1 ppm. If greater sensitivity is needed, the more feature-rich MultiRAE or MultiRAE PRO may be the best options.

Does this monitor have the option of adding a CO2 sensor?1 answer
Yes. Because of the monitor configuration it will only fit into the Sensor #1 slot.
how does the wireless work? are other detection meters needed to for other personnel? is a laptop required to view the wireless detection readings?
The RAE Systems wireless offering can be a little daunting at first. I’ll sketch out a few of the basics here, but you may find it useful to give us a call. We can review the type of application you have in mind, and make recommendations. RAE Systems has its own proprietary wireless systems. Depending on your budget and needs there are 2 options.
First, we have the Echo view system. This can display the information from up to 8 gas detectors at one time. The standard range of the Echo view host is 330ft., though this can be increased to 990ft with the use of Mesh routers.
The second option is to use ProRAE Guardian software installed on a computer. The software is a subscription service and cost is based on the number of units deployed. Put simply, a gas monitor will be worn by the user in addition to a RaeLink3 Mesh Transmitter. A transmitter is also connected to the host computer to act as a receiver. The information is then beamed from the gas detector to the computer via the transmitters. The value of this system is in the powerful software, it’s ideally suited for haz mat response or large facilities monitoring multiple locations simultaneously.
