Capstone’s combination goggles and removable face shield provide outstanding protection from flying debris. Vent caps on the goggles can be removed to provide extra ventilation or closed for complete chemical splash resistance. The Capstone goggles exceed all ANSI Z87.1 2003 High Impact Requirements as well as OSHA safety glasses requirements. They also meet CAN/CSA Z94.3-02.

The goggles' soft vinyl body and adjustable elastic headband comfortably conforms to facial contours to create a secure fit -- even over prescription glasses. The goggles come with two tear-away visor films that can be peeled off to restore clear vision when the original becomes dirty or scratched. Additional visor films available in packs of 6.

The ratcheting full-face shield is vented, providing excellent protection against splash and dust. Secondary eye protection is not required when using this product.

The Pyramex Capstone goggles without a face shield is also available, for jobs that do not require as much protection.

I am looking to replace our current faceshield used when handling cleaning chemicals. Are these chemical rated and do they provide the same or better protection against splash than a regular faceshield?

The Capstone GG504TSHIELD is chemical splash rated and does a great job protecting the user. The difference is the Capstone GG504TSHIELD sits much closer to the face and has better protection from splashes that could come up under a regular faceshield. While a standard faceshield is larger and covers a wider area, it sits further from the face and can distort vision more than the Capstone goggles.

Can this be worn over glasses? Does this attach to head gear or can it be worn alone?

The Pyramex GG504TSHIELD will fit over most glasses. Some over sized frames may be tight, but usual glasses have been okay for most folks. The goggle/shield combination is intended to be worn on its own. An elastic strap holds it on your head, without any other parts needed.

Do the goggles on the GG504TSHIELD protect against ultraviolet radiation. Do they have a UV-A filtering rating?

All version of the GG504TSHIELD block 99% of UV A and B. In fact almost every safety glass we sell does as well.

Is the face shield section removable from the goggles or is the unit connected permanently?

The face shield can be removed. There's a ratcheting system on the side of the goggles, simply ratchet the mask all the way up and it will eventually pop off.

Are the capstone goggles and face shield high impact to Australian standards as/nzs 1337.1 2010 ?

These goggles haven't gone through any Australian standards testing and so don't bare those certifications. They do exceed ANSI Z87.1 2003

Are these considered face-shields in OSHA terms? Do they meet OSHA requirements as face-shields?

    1 answer
    1. Ben

      2015-10-12 22:31:23

Pyramex test to ANSI standards only. You'll need to figure out what OSHA standard you're trying to achieve and what does that standard say about ANSI? If you look at the OSHA standard it should state an ANSI standard which is how you match Pyramex products up. Hope that helps.

Can the faceshield be purchased separate from the goggles?

    1 answer
    1. Ben

      2015-10-28 17:39:58

Unfortunately the face shield can't be purchased separately. The goggles are also unique to this set up and can't be purchased separately either.

This item will work just fine with a dust mask however it doesn't provide the clearance to work with a respirator.

for the Goggles that attach to the face shield, can you get the goggles 1.5 reader lens ?

    1 answer
    1. Ben

      2016-02-22 17:50:53

Unfortunately these goggles don't have a reader option. We recommend purchasing a regular face shield and wearing the V2 reader safety glasses underneath.
