This Protecta brand AB17533 kit is from their FIRST line of economy fall protection products. What they have done with this combo is to remove the back d-ring and one of the snap hooks on the lanyard. Then the lanyard is looped through and sewn to the harness. This makes them one unit. The big upside to all this is less weight - 2 pieces of hardware gone, and less money
Our customers have said for years that having a case or bag is a big deal to them; keeps all the parts together, keeps it clean, and reduces the tangle you get with a webbing harness. Some have used a small suitcase, others a gym or duffel bag. Protecta has provided a heavy weight nylon bag (looks like Cordura) that just fits. The flap has a generous Velcro closure, and the back has 2 nylon webbing loops with snaps. This can be carried on your belt or mounted on the forklift or bucket truck. While not waterproof, protection from the weather and sun will help keep your investment in safety equipment protected. The assembly meets all applicable standards, including OSHA and ANSI Z359.
Total weight capacity of this combo is 310 lbs.
The underlying harness is equal to the Protecta AB17530 , and the lanyard is equivalent to the Protecta AE57610 .

Yes, the AB17533 Harness is OSHA approved for use on an order picker in a warehouse.
Is this harness and lanyard approved for roofing/construction work by Cal/OSHA?1 answer
The Protecta harnesses and lanyards meet applicable ANSI standards for personal fall protection equipment. OSHA and CAL/OSHA do not approve fall protection products. They will however insist that your gear meets ANSI standards. For roofing applications, we generally see rope grabs being used. The Protecta AB17533 would be attached to that rope grab, and you should be just fine. Please be sure of your anchorage point. It should be strong enough (5,000 lb) and located to reduce or eliminate the possibility of a swing fall.
what is life expectancy of the harness. Do they have to be replaced on a schedule or just using your judgment on wear and tear?1 answer
The harness doesn't have a specific life span. It must be visually inspected before each use and inspected annually by a competent person. If it passes inspection it can be used.
Can this lanyard legally be attached to a retractable since it had no D ring?1 answer
No, it is never recommended to attach any retractable to another one. The manufacturer has tested and rated the attached lanyard on the harness already.
