The Salalift II from DBI-SALA is a manually operated winch used to raise or lower personnel and materials. Gear ratio is 6:1 with an average lifting speed of 12.75 ft/min. (no power source is required). Simply rotate the handle in the desired direction. The standard model 8102001 comes with 60 ft. of 1/4 in. galvanized steel cable complete with the DBI "quick-mount" top-mounting bracket and carrying bag. The bottom or base mounting bracket must be ordered separately to fit the application. 60, 90 and 120 ft. lengths are available in galvanized or stainless steel. The lightweight design weighs only 35 to 37 lbs. depending upon the length of cable. A "free-wheel" mode is an operator activated feature that allows the drum to rotate and cable to lengthen freely as the attached worker descends or moves about (handle remains stationary). This "free-wheel" mode has a built-in over-speed brake with energy absorbing capacity (similar to self retracting lifelines) which provides secondary fall protection and added security. Operating the handle automatically puts you back in control. The built-in overload clutch automatically slips to prevent severe overloading or damage, it also helps prevent injury to entangled personnel during raising operations. Corrosion resistance is built in with a housing cover made from a durable medium density polyethylene with a built-in ergonomic carrying handle. This housing material reduces weight and will not dent or corrode like metal housings. The inner workings are also made to last, with anodized aluminum side plates, zinc plated gears and shafts, stainless steel springs and aluminum drum for superior dependability. The swiveling self locking snap hook provides secure connection to the person or load and prevents the cable from twisting for smoother operation. An impact indicator enables the user to visually check to see if device has been impact loaded, in which case the unit will need to be sent in for inspection. A reserve lifeline system allows the brake to activate and absorb energy if a fall occurs at the end of the lifeline travel. Meets or exceeds all industry regulations including OSHA and ANSI.
