This particular UCL Advanced Series Five-Piece Hoist System is designed for your larger vault and tank entry applications. The extra large 97 inch wide leg span allows quick set-up on some pretty big manhole and confined space entry/retrieval applications. This is way beyond the capacity of even the largest Confined Space Tripods!

Like all of the DBI Advanced Confined Space Retrieval devices, this unit is constructed of lightweight materials, including high-strength aluminum. Most pieces have been powder coated for exceptional durability and long lasting sharp looks. The use of detent pins throughout means easy assembly without tools, and compact storage on your truck or the optional Advanced Equipment Cart.

The instruction manual is available below, and details the wide variety of adjustments and capacities of this remarkable device. Aside from the light weight and portability, one thing that stands out for us is the ability of the Davit Arm to pivot. What this does for the ease of rescue on the job can not be overstated. If you have used a tripod, or even a fixed overhead anchor point for retrieval, then you should be able to appreciate the convenience of being able to pivot the worker or equipment from over the hole. And with very little effort as the plastic lined sleeves move smoothly, with very little friction.

The Five-Piece Hoist System 8518040 comes equipped with:

• 8518006 30-48 in. Adjustable Offset Mast
• 8518002 33 in. Lightweight Lower Mast
• 8518008 Three-Piece Lightweight Base

Winches and SRLs are sold separately. Most folks use the 8518558 Winch because it is purpose built for this system but any winch will work is you use the 8510207 Adapter.
