We are looking to hire a full-time onsite lead software engineer to take ownership of our website and its middleware, accounting, and remote warehouse integrations.   • About the Job:

    This person will be part of a team that helps drive the company through our next wave of success. You will add new products to our online stores and work with the Director of Marketing on creating, updating and merchandising web content. This role will also assist in merchandising products and categories on the site to help drive sales. There is opportunity to work on social media and other marketing projects. The exact role will evolve over time as the needs of the department change, and as we discover your strengths.

    Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Analyze business requirements, storyboards and other artifacts of the scrum process, work in an agile development environment with quick turnaround time, iterative builds. Define high level designs
    • Work with partners and other teams to drive design and development of integration needs
    • Apply your knowledge of software architecture to software development tasks associated with developing, debugging, or designing software applications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements
    • Write and alter PHP programs for Magento, middleware, data feeds/pulls. Code a little javascript or scripts for cron jobs occasionally. Coach a junior programmer via pairs programming
    • Manage a cloud network of system administrators, database administrators, programmers and support staff at our ISP and twelve vendors to deliver high system availability, identify and resolve issues quickly
    • Install new Magento releases and our own and vendor extensions on Linux cluster. Apply/maintain our well-documented customizations on test system, work with QA to thoroughly vet before deploying to production sites. We're on Magento EE 1.14.2 with PHH 5.5.12, latest patches
    • Research, help select, and implement new software technology to support business needs
    • Support other teams in their use of Magento, NetSuite, and other tools
    • Coordinate support from IT tech for workstations, local server
    Technical Qualifications:
    • Expert in PHP, HTML, DHTML, CSS, XML, web services (REST, SOAP) with at least 3 years experience
    • Able to code simple JavaScript, simple shell scripts for cron jobs. Familiarity with Ajax, jQuery a plus
    • Write understandable, well-structured code with an eye towards maintainability, security, scaling
    • Database development experience with MySQL in a remote Linux cluster environment
    • Can design and build a secure, scalable web application with user interface, database, remote system interfaces, user documentation. Have examples you can identify and discuss
    • Willing and able to learn Magento quickly if not already familiar with it. We'll support and coach you in this process if needed
    • Used to working on remote LAMP stack via FTP, SSH
    • At least a couple years working with responsive and accessible websites
    • Experience with performance tuning websites, optimizing for Google PageSpeed
    • Experience with securing websites against XSS/CRSF, SQL injection and other vulnerabilities
    • Willing to select, quickly learn, administer, and document technologies you may not have worked with before ranging from things like hosted spam filtering to NetSuite promotions to data feeds to Google and Bing
    Nice to Have, But Not Required:
    • Magento experience and understanding, especially with Magento Enterprise, theme and extension selection, design, installation, and customization. Magento Certification a huge plus!
    • Zend Framework experience
    • Experience with Google Merchant Tools and Analytics
    • Marketing, design, or product design experience
    • Experience with NetSuite web services
    • Experience with Authorize.Net, Trustwave and PCI compliance requirements
    • Experience with or knowledge of large scale, high volume systems; experience with caching and scaling techniques

    • Someone with strong verbal/written (English) communication skills. You can explain complex technical concepts to non-technical people. You clearly document how your systems work, and how your applications are built and configured
    • Able to work on multiple projects with competing deadlines
