How do you use the manual aspirator kit for remote sampling? Our application is that we want to test a pit before entering it.

I believe gasses can accumulate a different levels within a pit, so how do we take that into account when sampling?

You are correct. You'll need to take samples at three different levels - top of the space, middle, and bottom - to make sure you are testing each layer of atmosphere.

Does this unit come with a sampling hose to test the three levels and what is the length of the hose ?

The kit comes with 15ft of Tygon tubing and a manual aspirator so that pre-entry checks can be performed. It's worth noting that this is designed for very occasional use. If regular confined space entry is to be performed we would highly recommend purchasing the GasAlert Max XT II. This unit has an internal pump alleviating the need for a manual aspirator and potential user error.
