The biggest problem with dust masks is the seal (or lack of it) that is created on the face. Unless properly fitted, air will leak in through the sides of a dust mask rendering their filtration properties useless. This a great option if you're cutting grass or trying to prevent large pieces of dirt entering the airway. A better option to ensure a proper seal is to purchase a respirator mask (they're so popular they have their own category on our website). They will provide a better seal on the face and with the correct filters, provide increased respiratory protection.
