The QRAE II is a compact personal gas detector from RAE Systems. The QRAE II comes loaded with features and is aimed squarely at confined space entry. Available in either a diffusion model or with the powered internal sample draw pump, the QRAE II is one of our most popular and best selling confined space 4-gas monitors.
Each has its advantages, but by far the most popular is the pump model. This is because when equipped with a hose attachment it is capable of pulling a sample from a remote location such as a tank or sewer where the entrance is located at the top of the vessel or at street level. Once the atmosphere has been checked remotely, workers can safely enter wearing either a pump or diffusion model to continuously sample the atmosphere. The diffusion models don't drain the battery as quickly and are quieter than the pump version of the RAE Systems QRAE II.
All QRAE II's feature a rubberized exterior to cushion a rugged housing that has IP-65 rating for water and dust resistance. The large graphic LCD screen is automatically backlit in dim light, and displays the readings from all sensors - all the time, and can even be flipped electronically so as to be readable when hanging on your belt.
An additional metallic barrier gives the QRAE II the best EMI/RFI resistance in its class. This immunity from Electro Magnetic and Radio Frequency Interference is a big deal. Many of the cheaper Confined Space Gas Detectors on the market will react (and even go into alarm) when standard industrial radios and walkie-talkies are in use nearby.
Just 2 buttons control all functions, and they are made to be able to push even while wearing gloves. The warning alarms are comprehensive, with a loud 95db buzzer, bright red LEDs flashing on top and a vibrating alarm to make sure you get the message even when working on a noisy work site.
The QRAE II includes 64,000 data logging points of storage capacity for download to a Windows PC (a recharging cradle is required for this feature). Your choice of Alkaline or Li-ion batteries, with either one giving up to 14 hours of continuous operation. CSA intrinsically safe approvals in the US and Canada: C1, D1, Groups A, B, C, D, T4 and European: ATEX II 2G EEx ia d IIc T3 and T4. Many other features are listed in the QRAE II Factory Data Sheet.
The QRAE II is extremely affordable, hard-working, and easy to use gas detector. The QRAE II works well in many applications including refinery work, oil rigs, fire fighting, confined space entry, maritime industrial work, utility companies, gas plants, military, environmental and safety engineers, hazmat first responders, and industrial safety engineers.

Popular, Easy-To-Use and Durable

The QRAE II has been a top seller for years. In particular the rechargeable version. Just leave it on the charger, and you are ready to go anytime. The alkaline version needs some warm-up time if the batteries are drained or left out of the unit.
Our service techs will confirm that this is a trouble free instrument. We seldom see them in for repair, and do not sell many replacement sensors, which speaks well of their useful life.
With the internal motorized sample draw pump, this is truly a confined space gas detector. All the features you need, at a very reasonable price.
Simple to use
Low cost to own
Alkaline version could be better
I would recommend this item to a friend.
