Pyramex Ratchet Hard Hat HP14110 - Video
Pyramex Ratchet Hard Hat Video Transcript
Ok, so we're looking at the Pyramex Hard Hat. This is a white hardhat with a ratchet suspension. We have them in many colors, and we also have them in a standard suspension. They come in a polybag like this, which I've opened for the ease of showing you. Assembly instructions are on the back. It's kind of an important point because all of the hardhats we sell come with the suspension separate. We've got the shell and we've got the suspension. This needs to be installed before it's going to be used. That's something to keep in mind for a time saving thing.
So we set the suspension inside the hat. The brow is at the front with the cap bill and the adjusting knob is on the back. So what we're going to do is take these little tabs and push them in. They're quite simple to do. As you just kind of go around the hat, you'll have no problem getting that done. Just slide 'em all in here, and they're secure. And once they're in, they really don't want to come back out. So, it's all set!
Now let's look at some of the features inside the hat. This is a four-point suspension. There are ones on the market that are six, but I don't think it makes a lot of a difference. At the front, there's a soft pad, this is foam in the back and a terry material on the front. There's foam on the back and a knob. When you turn this knob out (counterclockwise), the hat gets bigger. When you turn it clockwise, the hat gets smaller. This allows for quick and easy adjustment. On the sides here, this little tab -- if you can see it right there -- that's where a chin strap's gonna go, if you wanna have a chin strap on. On the sides of this hat, and virtually any other hat on the market, there are slots, and these slots allow you to put in things like earmuffs or some kind of face shield bracket. This hat also had what they call a rain through. So, as water hits the hat, it's gonna come along and come out the front of the hat rather than coming along the back or something like that. Now let's see how we put this on.
The hardhat is now completely assembled. Remember, this is the adjusting knob. What we're going to do is put the hat on like so, and then tighten this knob, turning clockwise. That's going to put the hat on securely. You're ready to go to work!

Standard hard hat Review by Doug
No surprises here just your regular old hard hat. Ratchet suspension lets you adjust it. Not too heavy. We buy these for every new employee. (Posted on 2/26/2013)
