ECKO K1210 Confined Space Ventilation Blower Video Transcript

Hi, this is Rick Pedley, and welcome to pksafety.com! Today we're going to look at the Echo K1210 Confined Space Ventilation Fan.

Now, this is a 12 inch diameter fan, so it moves a lot of air: 2300 cubic feet per minute!There's a 3-quarter horse power motor that draws 550 watts of power. It has a precision balanced seven-blade cast aluminum fan, which makes it pretty efficient. It moves the air quite well. It has heavy rubber feet on the bottom and all steel construction. It's powder coated and seems pretty well-made for what it is. It has a switch at the top -- flipping it left or right turns the unit on or off. It's protected by the handle and this little tab here.

Now, when you turn this on, the blower just goes one direction: this direction, which is indicated by the arrow on the front. So if we want to push, we go in that direction; if we want to pull, we go in the other. We just turn the fan around with ducting attached to desired end. This ducting might go down in a manhole, it might go into a vessel -- anything along those lines. The model is imported, so there's no UL approval. In this sort of product, that's not uncommon.

So it comes with a 12-foot long cord with a typical three-prong connector. We're just going to stick it in the wall and see what happens. You'll hear, it's powerful. It moves a lot of air, so it makes some noise, but maybe not as much as you'd expect. But that is A LOT of air!
