Hi this is Rick Pedley and welcome to PK Safety. Today we’re looking at the Gerson 1501 disposable dust mask. This mask is a little unusual. Almost all the masks that I describe have some sort of rating. It’s important to note that this product does not have a rating. They used to call it a comfort mask, but the basic idea is this thing is just for things where you really don’t need a dust mask, I know that’s kind of an interesting concept, but the idea is that because of the thinness of the material and the lack of overall fit, you wouldn’t want to use it for something dangerous, silica, or any sort of thing that’s toxic, like lead or asbestos, absolutely not, but we do have some customers where this is applicable. I’m thinking about somebody who’s in a landscaping business and using a leaf blower, or perhaps you’re out in your garage and you’re sweeping up. For something like that I’d say it’s probably good enough, but that’s about it, so just keep that in mind. They come in a box of fifty, they’re exceptionally inexpensive. One strap, this strap is heat welded on and once we put it on this deformable nose bridge, a little aluminum strip here, hopefully gives us a little bit better fit than we might get with nothing, but I should just caution you, I’ll show you how to put it on, but I’d caution you, this is not an approved product. Very specific applications, but we just take it like this, put it on over the top, bend this a little bit, and you’re good to go. As I say, if you’re gonna be doing leaf blowing, I think that’d be a good application for it. We sell quite a few of them, but just keep that in mind. Thank you.
