DBI Rope Lifeline. This rope is made of polyester. Other ropes that may be used are the so-called 'poly-dac', which is a polyester covering on a polypropylene core. In no event should you use straight polypropylene or nylon ropes. In particular the polypropylene can be cut by the action of the rope grab. Not a happy event.
This DBI/SALA rope grab will automatically follow you, giving you greater freedom of movement and virtually hands-free operation. It can be installed or removed at any point on the lifeline. The rope grab utilizes a cam lever as well as a friction sensitive brake to lock the rope grab onto the lifeline in case of a fall, even if the operator holds the device open in a panic situation.
