DBI/SALA 7401013 Zorbit Energy Absorber for Horizontal Lifelines

The Zorbit Energy Absorber is used on the Securaspan line of Horizontal Lifelines from DBI/SALA. This little dynamo is placed at one or both ends of a horizontal lifeline cable to reduce the sudden impact load in the event of a fall. This allows significant reduction in the necessary strength, bulk and weight of stanchions used in these systems.

A significant amount of engineering thought has gone into this product. In the instruction manual (below) there are calculations laid out to allow on-site engineering staff to be able to make their own horizontal lifeline systems.
