Confined Space Entry System

Confined space entry is no joking matter. Many workers have died because they did not use the right equipment. Businesses have also been charged enormous fines because they were not OSHA compliant. At PK Safety, we have made getting all the right confined space items easy by combining the necessities into our confined space entry system.

We carry many varieties of confined space equipment that meet the ANSI and OSHA requirements. What we have done is put together a system that has everything needed for confined space entry. This includes your gas monitor with the standard 4 gases, the tripod with winch, the Ramfan for ventilation, and a harness.

DBI Sala II 8300030 Winch w/ 7 FT Tripod

This is a complete tripod rescue system including a Salalift II winch with 60 feet of 1/4 inch galvanized cable, a 7 foot aluminum tripod (8000000), and convenient winch storage bag. 2 Pulleys are built into the head.

The 8300030 kit is extremely easy to set up. Simply unfold the legs over your opening and use the quick connect system to attach the winch. The rated working load is 350 lbs. for work support (raising or lowering equipment) and 310 lbs. for fall arrest. The Salalift II winch is intended to handle raising and lowering work personnel while working and in a retrieval emergency. The lightweight design includes corrosion resistant construction featuring anodized aluminum side plates, zinc plated gears and shafts, stainless steel springs and aluminum drum. An overload clutch reduces chance of injury to an entangled worker.

BW Honeywell Gas Alert Max XT II

Heighten your senses with the BW Gas Alert Max XT 4-gas monitor for confined space entry. This unit can take a pounding and keep accurately displaying readings for Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Oxygen (O2) and the Lower Explosive Levels of a number of combustible gases (%LEL). The one-button user interface for the BW Gas Alert Max XT is incredibly simple, and takes very little training. A large LCD screen makes reading gas levels on Gas Alert Max XT very easy. Need the screen back-lit to check levels in a dark environment? Just push the one button.

If an emergency presents itself, don’t worry about looking at the screen. The Gas Alert Max XT will let you know there is a problem with multiple very bright, flashing red LED lights, a piercing sonic alarm rated at 85 Db and a vibration alert.

The BW Gas Alert Max XT also has an optional Confined Space Kit (CSK1) which adds:

• IR Data Link Kit with Fleet Manager II software
• 0.5 LPM regulator
• 3 ft. / 1 m calibration hose with quick connect
• 10 ft. / 3 m sampling hose with metallic particulate filter and quick connect

A BW Calibration 4-gas canister is also available as an option. The mixture includes: CH4 (2.5%), O2 (18.0%), H2S (25 ppm), CO (100 ppm).

Blower/Duct Canister Combo 25 ft ED7025

The UB20 is the most popular blower we sell and has proven to be extremely reliable. The double-walled housing is molded from a UV-resistant polyethylene; making it dent-resistant, corrosion-proof and virtually indestructible. Add a polypropylene blade, tough nylon motor mount and thru-bolted motor and this unit can handle plenty of abuse. Exofit Back D-Ring Harness 1107976

The Exofit harness is by far the most comfortable harness especially when dangling from a 7 foot tripod. This harness has a back d-ring which is all you need for most confined space jobs.

ExoFit harnesses are made out of high performance materials that incorporate a breathable Dri-Lex lining that draws the moisture away from the workers body keeping them dry and comfortable while wearing. Also with the Lycra edging around the harness you won't have that painful chafing and rubbing from the harness straps.

Optional: Petzl VERTEX VENT Helmet A10V

Confined space entry requires a low-profile helmet or hard hat with a chin strap. Our customers have only the best things to say about the VENT from Petzl. It meets all applicable OSHA and ANSI standards, and is extremely comfortable with adjustments for depth as well as circumference.
