BW Technologies is famous for their portable gas-detection devices. Since the 2006 launch of the GasAlertClip, which was the world’s smallest multi-gas monitor, they have been gaining popularity and market share in the sector. It is no surprise that the company joined the esteemed ranks of Honeywell that very same year.
Today BW Technologies by Honeywell offers a wide range of handheld gas alert and logging devices. Whatever your needs the GasAlert range has something to suit your toxic gas detection needs.
BW began in 1987 offering the world's first wireless and solar-powered gas detection unit - the Rig Rat. Today they are a leader in the gas detection business world-wide and have over 30 products.
Initially offering solutions for fixed system gas detection; it wasn’t until 1995 that BW Technologies started developing portable gas sniffers for the confined space industry.
In 1998 BW Technologies released state-of-the-art detectors weighing over 800g, it is to their credit that a similarly advanced device (such as the GasAlertMax XT II) with an expanded range of features (four detectors, active pump, LCD screen) can weigh one-fifth of that.
It was the GasAlertMicroClip that initially made their name in 2006. Never before had four detectors (Hydrogen Sulfide, Carbon Monoxide, Lower Explosive Level detection and Oxygen levels) been crammed into such a small, rugged device.
It isn’t just size that makes BW Technologies Gas Alert series incredibly useful for those working in potentially toxic environments. The devices were designed to be incredibly easy to use – featuring one-button operation – in order to decrease time-spent training the workers using the devices.
Easy to use and built-to-last; each Gas Alert multi-gas monitor features rugged concussion-proof housing, is water-resistant, and features a large, bright-yet-durable LCD screen – making them idea for any industrial environment such as confined space work on oil rigs, in refineries, petrochemical factories, municipal sewer work and manhole entry where gas detection is necessary for the safety of workers.
The GasAlertClip Extreme series are built to last – without charge, or calibration – for up to three years. Up to three years of constant detection and warning should gas levels become dangerous - the Gas Alert Clip Extreme is available in Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Sulfur Dioxide and Oxygen (O2) versions.
Having pioneered handheld gas detectors, BW Technologies currently have a range of options to suit any budget. There are passive detectors (The
Quattro which is features four full-sized sensors; and the
GasAlertMicroClip which has four smaller sensors) and active-sampling detectors, such as the
GasAlertMax XT II, which features an integrated sampling pump allowing analysis of an enclosed area prior to entry.
For active sampling with a passive detector, a hand-sampling pump is available. It is possible to convert any of the passive detectors into an active sampling device with the aid of the Confined Space Entry Kits; each featuring – amongst other useful connections - an extended sampling tube and a hand-pump aspirator allowing you to sample a remote area prior to entry.
Each of Gas Alert range of monitors features three warning systems to alert you should any gas reach a potentially harmful level (visual, sonic and vibration alerts), making sure you and your team aware of any danger no matter where you are working.
BW Technologies understand the need to tailor your equipment and to keep records of events and gas levels: the ability to alter alert levels to ranges specific to your jobsite and to retrieve data logs is standard with the Gas Alert Range of detectors.
BW Technologies has been leading the portable gas detection field for years. Their products are rich in features while keeping their use as simple as possible; giving you and your business the flexibility needed to keep your workers safe and your business OSHA and NIOSH compliant.
