Honeywell has the answer in the form of a small, durable GasAlertClip Extreme Oxygen detector. Once activated this little sensor will monitor and log O2 levels in the environment, alerting the wearer should levels reach worrying concentrations. The Extreme monitors gas continuously for its entire two year lifespan.
The highly portable Gas Alert Clip Extreme is one hardy piece of equipment that requires no maintenance or calibration (it even self-tests). Designed to operate continuously for two years, you can be sure you and you team are safe, no matter where you work be it in sewer maintenance, petroleum refineries, chemical production, oil rigs or for the military).
The detector is incredibly easy to use: the Extreme is highly intuitive and minimal training is required for use. Oxygen sensing is displayed clearly on it's LCD screen, alongside the remaining battery life (measured in months, days, hours, and minutes) and the unit features simple, one-button operation.
The Gas Alert Clip Extreme does not, however, display gas levels, and only goes into alarm when dangerous levels (high or low) have been reached. If you need a monitor that constantly displays current gas concentrations, consider the ToxiRAE series of single gas monitors.
The Gas Alert Clip Extreme is a diffusion-type detector and continuously monitors the air it comes in contact with. This portable gas sniffer has a water-resistant and concussion-proof housing that is common to all of BW Honeywell's Gas Alert detector range.
Also common to this range of gas presence monitors is the triple warning system - this Gas Alert Extreme detector will sound the alarm should oxygen levels become dangerous - it uses visual, audible and vibration alerts to make you aware of any and all problems.
The O2 GasAlertClip Extreme is compatible with the MicroDock II for quick and easy bump testing. Also compatible with the IR Data Link and Fleet Manager Software to retrieve data over use.
Each unit is packed individually in a cardboard box, with instruction manual sheet, warranty card, calibration/bump test adapter and calibration certificate from the factory.

Easy to operate and clip on. A must have for whenever I go underground now.Pros:
No need to ever replace batteries or send back to manufacturer for calibration this device for the duration of it's 2 year window.I would recommend this item to a friend.
