A durable and highly portable gas detector, the Gas Alert Clip Extreme H2S is a hassle-free way to prevent over-exposure to Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) and warn the wearer of dangerous levels.
With its water-resistant casing, as well as concussion protection, these detectors will run continuously checking their immediate environment for H2S for their full life span of two years (three year life is available on special order).
The monitors large LCD display constantly shows how much battery life is left, and that the unit is monitoring for gas. The Gas Alert Clip Extreme does not, however, display current gas levels, and only goes into alarm when dangerous levels have been reached. If you need a monitor that constantly displays current gas concentrations, consider the ToxiRAE series of single gas monitors.
Gas Alert Clip sniffers require no maintenance (no sensor changing, battery charging or everyday care) and are incredibly simple to use (featuring BW's simple one-button interface).
If your confined space team is wearing the GasAlertClip, you can be sure they will have warning of H2S. Each unit has audible and vibration alarms set to ring should the wearer encounter dangerous levels of gas.
Hydrogen Sulphide is both toxic and flammable; while it does have a distinct aroma "rotten eggs" prolonged exposure can dull your sense of smell, so you cannot rely on this alone. Should you be working in an environment where you might encounter H2S (sewers, oilrigs, wastewater plants and refineries for example), it is important to stay protected and up to OSHA and NIOSH standards.
As well as protecting you and your employees, the gas detector can be a valuable source of information, and full data logs can be downloaded via the MicroDock II interface.
Each unit is packed individually in a cardboard box, with instruction manual sheet, warranty card, calibration/bump test adapter and calibration certificate from the factory.
The H2S GasAlertClip Extreme is compatible with the MicroDock II for quick and easy bump testing. Also compatable with the IR Data Link and Fleet Managaer Software (shipped with the MicroDock II) to retrieve and store OSHA-required data over the times when workers are in confined spaces.

Very happy with monitors and fast delivery! We were informed that our employees cannot use the hard hat clips as the monitors must be below their nose/mouth. So it may be an obsolete item in the future.Pros:

Works, but...

Works fine if you only need one alarm setting, we work in diffrent refineries and each require diffrent alarm settings. Didn't know you couldn't change these settings. Each person on the crew must carry two diffrent monitors. Other than that, unit works as specified.Merchant Response:
Thanks for your feedback. This is a monitor that works for about 98% of our customers. We are able to buy it in bulk and that's why we are able to offer such a good price on it.Currently there is no BW Clip Extreme monitor that has the ability to change settings. I just spoke with the BW rep, and he informs me that the new Clip Extremes coming out next month will have that function available.
Currently only the BW Extreme single gas monitor has that capability. For the BW Gas Alert Clip Extreme you purchased, the range levels for the monitor you ordered are listed on the product page. We're sorry you are part of that 2% with special requirements not met by this monitor.
