![]() This is the safety equipment the pros use to remove asbestos and lead paint from old homes, buildings, and factories. It is also a great setup for construction demolition, lath and plaster removal, spraying latex paint, grinding off bottom paint from boats, or working in contaminated or questionable environments such as attics, crawlspaces, or basements. The Lead and Asbestos Removal Pro Kit includes: 1 each 3M 6000 Half Mask Respirator (choose size) 1 pair 3M 2091 P100 (HEPA) filters 1 each DuPont Tyvek Coverall 1414 with Hood and Boots (choose size) 1 pair Memphis 9688 Flex Tuff II Gloves (choose size) And your choice of one of the below: Pyramex G204 Goggles Pyramex Ztek S2510S Clear Safety Glasses Pyramex G704T Goggles Notes about each piece of equipment are below: This reusable respirator from 3M is the economy face piece we recommend when starting to build a complete mask. Filter cartridges attach with a simple 1/4 turn and can be easily swapped out for replacement or different filters depending on the job required. The light weight design is comfortable and the adjustable cradle suspension holds the respirator in place for maximum fit and comfort. You can wash the mask in warm soap and water to keep it fresh and clean, but when the seal starts to break down it is time to replace the mask. Please note that 80% of our customers wear a size medium mask. You can view all our respirator masks here. An optional step up from this mask is the 3M 7500 Half Facepiece Respirator which is made of soft silicone meaning it conforms to your face better and debris or paint isn't as likely to stick to its slippery exterior. This is 3M's best half mask and well worth the extra price if you are going to be wearing a respirator for long periods of time or using it for multiple projects. This pair of HEPA filters is rated to remove 99.9% of airborne particles .3 microns and larger. This includes toxic dusts like asbestos and lead, most welding fumes (burnt metal), and many environmental dusts found in attics or when doing construction work. This filter is also good insurance when working in the attic or under the house where there may be concerns about Hantavirus from mice or the chance of inhaling old asbestos or vermiculite insulation. The life of the filter is dependent on what it has been exposed to but a good guideline is to change your filter when you notice increased resistance to breathing. Lots of dust means a shorter filter life. We sell replacement filters and other cartridges here. This standard zipper front Tyvek coverall has an attached hood, non-skid booties and elastic at the wrist, providing total body coverage except for the face. Wear a respirator and protective gloves and you're pretty well covered. Traditionally these were called Tyvek 1414 suits but DuPont now lists them as TY122S. This suit can be used for asbestos removal, blown fiberglass insulation, painting, insecticide application inside rafters and many other uses. It is extremely lightweight. Please note that the suit can become hot inside especially in warm climates or while working in attics or crawlspaces. It is usually best to order Tyvek coveralls one size larger than you think you need to allow for a full range of motion as the seams do not stretch and they are the weakest part of the garment construction. Click here to view the Dupont Tyvek Coverall Sizing Chart. Tyvek coveralls are easily ripped on sharp objects. Most construction professionals tuck the booties inside their boots to prevent them from ripping on sharp or uneven floor surfaces. These garments are meant to be disposable therefore Dupont does not recommend washing them. While we sell many types of safety gloves, these are one of our most popular. They consist of a breathable 10 gauge grey Cotton/Polyester knit shell that is coated with a grey latex dip to provide a rough finish for superior grip and wear. They are made in the shape of a relaxed hand and are a dirt resistant grey color. These are great for demolition work, climbing over rafters, and as a general purpose safety glove. They can be machine washed but we do not recommend placing them in the dryer because they may melt. Your choice of one of the below: Pyramex G204 Goggles These goggles are nice because they seal off your eyes Pyramex Ztek S2510S Clear Safety Glasses This is one of our most popular safety glasses featuring a lightweight, wrap-around single lens for a panoramic view. The lenses are coated for scratch resistance, meet ANSI Z87.1 requirements, and the lenses provide 99% UV protection. Pyramex G704T Goggles These goggles are an upgrade from the G204, offering a low profile, modern sport design with anti-glare frame. The single polycarbonate lens is coated for anti-fog and scratch resistance. These goggles exceed ANSI Z87.1-2003 High Impact requirements and provide 99% protection against harmful UV rays.
