This is the safety equipment the pros use to remove asbestos and lead paint from old homes, buildings, and factories. It is also a great setup for construction demolition, lath and plaster removal, spraying latex paint, grinding off bottom paint from boats, or working in contaminated or questionable environments such as attics, crawlspaces, or basements.
3M 6000 Half Mask Respirator
This reusable respirator from 3M is the economy face piece we recommend when starting to build a complete mask. Filter cartridges attach with a simple 1/4 turn and can be easily swapped out for replacement or different filters depending on the job required. The light weight design is comfortable and the adjustable cradle suspension holds the respirator in place for maximum fit and comfort. You can wash the mask in warm soap and water to keep it fresh and clean, but when the seal starts to break down it is time to replace the mask. Please note that 80% of our customers wear a size medium mask. You can view all our respirator masks here.
An optional step up from this mask is the 3M 7500 Half Facepiece Respirator which is made of soft silicone meaning it conforms to your face better and debris or paint isn't as likely to stick to its slippery exterior. This is 3M's best half mask and well worth the extra price if you are going to be wearing a respirator for long periods of time or using it for multiple projects.
3M 2091 P100 (HEPA) Filters (1 pair)
This pair of HEPA filters is rated to remove 99.9% of airborne particles .3 microns and larger. This includes toxic dusts like asbestos and lead, most welding fumes (burnt metal), and many environmental dusts found in attics or when doing construction work. This filter is also good insurance when working in the attic or under the house where there may be concerns about Hantavirus from mice or the chance of inhaling old asbestos or vermiculite insulation. The life of the filter is dependent on what it has been exposed to but a good guideline is to change your filter when you notice increased resistance to breathing. Lots of dust means a shorter filter life. We sell replacement filters and other cartridges here.
DuPont Tyvek Coverall 1414 Suit
This standard zipper front Tyvek coverall has an attached hood, non-skid booties and elastic at the wrist, providing total body coverage except for the face. Wear a respirator and protective gloves and you're pretty well covered. Traditionally these were called Tyvek 1414 suits but DuPont now lists them as TY122S. This suit can be used for asbestos removal, blown fiberglass insulation, painting, insecticide application inside rafters and many other uses. It is extremely lightweight.
Please note that the suit can become hot inside especially in warm climates or while working in attics or crawlspaces. It is usually best to order Tyvek coveralls one size larger than you think you need to allow for a full range of motion as the seams do not stretch and they are the weakest part of the garment construction.
Tyvek coveralls are easily ripped on sharp objects. Most construction professionals tuck the booties inside their boots to prevent them from ripping on sharp or uneven floor surfaces. These garments are meant to be disposable therefore Dupont does not recommend washing them.
Memphis 9688 Flex Tuff II Gloves (1 pair)
While we sell many types of safety gloves, these are one of our most popular. They consist of a breathable 10 gauge grey Cotton/Polyester knit shell that is coated with a grey latex dip to provide a rough finish for superior grip and wear. They are made in the shape of a relaxed hand and are a dirt resistant grey color. These are great for demolition work, climbing over rafters, and as a general purpose safety glove. They can be machine washed but we do not recommend placing them in the dryer because they may melt.
Your choice of one of the below:
Pyramex G204 Goggles These goggles are nice because they seal off your eyes from splashes and falling debris common to painting, demolition and asbestos removal projects. They contain scratch resistant 100% polycarbonate lenses inserted into a PVC frame. The lenses provide 99% protection from UV-A and UV-B rays which is great if you are working outside painting houses or sanding fiberglass. Meets ANSI Z87.1 standards.
Pyramex Ztek S2510S Clear Safety Glasses
This is one of our most popular safety glasses featuring a lightweight, wrap-around single lens for a panoramic view. The Ztec provides superior side protection without the distraction of seams or bends. The soft non-slip rubber temple tips keep glasses in place. The lenses are coated for scratch resistance, meet ANSI Z87.1 requirements, and the lenses provide 99% UV protection.
Pyramex G704T Goggles These goggles are an upgrade from the G204, offering a low profile, modern sport design with anti-glare frame. The single polycarbonate lens is coated for anti-fog and scratch resistance. These goggles exceed ANSI Z87.1-2003 High Impact requirements and provide 99% protection against harmful UV rays.

All In One Kit Protection
By Doug from North Wales, PA on April 23, 2012
This kit provides a decent value for anyone doing some real dirty work. I used it while completing plaster ceiling repairs at my parents 102 year old home. The respirator filter worked really well and stayed in-place. I couldn't use the eye protection cause I was sweating heavily and they fogged right up.
Pros:
Full body protection. All in one kit.
Cons:
Glasses fogged up & couldn't wear. Serious body heat build up while wearing the protective suit.

"Suited" my one-job need
By Satisified from Seattle, WA area on November 22, 2011
Had some siding material to remove from a small building, four sides and ordered this kit. Excellent value and everything performed perfectly during my job. Mask was reasonably comfortable for the several hours that I needed to wear it and gloves proved durable. Highly recommended. Thanks!
I would recommend this item to a friend.
Great value, met our needs for removing asbestos siding.
By Wendy from Medford, Oklahoma on October 10, 2011
This kit met all of our expectations. The tyvek suit barely lasted though one day of hard work though. I would recommend getting a new suit for each day of work. The respirators were of very good quality and provided a good seal. The gloves and glasses worked well.
Pros:
All need items grouped together for purchase.
Reasonable price
Cons:
Tyvek suit wore out very fast
I would recommend this item to a friend.

Cons:
None.

Surprisingly Durable
By Chris from Tacoma, WA on June 23, 2011
Kit came exactly as described. Sizing charts and advice were a big help and everything fit well. Kit was purchased for asbestos, but it turned out to be unnecessary (a pleasant surprise). Still, I used the suit to keep from getting filthy while wriggling through my crawl space during a plumbing project, and the suit held up nicely. I was really abusing it (crawling over debris, dragging across nails and other sharp objects), and the suit held up well before finally meeting its match after getting hooked on a nail. For the average asbestos or lead removal project, I would expect the suit to pass with flying colors. Just be aware that it gets warm quickly under the suit, so dress accordingly before donning it.
Pros:
Fit as expected
Durable
Cons:
Gets warm
I would recommend this item to a friend.
Kit was just the right thing.
By Jim from Buffalo, NY on June 11, 2011
This selection of items was just right for the job. I was pleased with the overall quality of the items. I used them while rewrapping some small sections of heating pipe where the asbestos insulation had developed a few cracks at the joints.
Pros:
Excellent utility of all items for the average do-it-yourselfer, and at a very good price for such quality. Respirator and goggles fit snugly, yet were comfortable. Tyvek suit withstood two days of use without tearing, and totally protected from head to toe--well, almost.
Cons:
Sleeves of tyvec suit could be a bit longer so as not to ride up at the wrists (even with my extra rubber bands.. Rest of the size medium suit was proper fit. Anything bigger would have been too floppy.
I would recommend this item to a friend.
good equipment, good price
By Flo from toronto, canada on May 17, 2011
all came as advertised. I ordered the upgrade respirator 3m 7500 and the upgrade goggles. The mask is great but you cannot wear those goggles with the mask on, it won't seat on your nose and fit snugly. I had to use my other not to-the-skin glasses.
Pros:
price, material
Cons:
upgrade goggle
I would recommend this item to a friend.
Merchant Response:
Sorry to hear the goggles didn't fit great. Everyone's face is a little different, and in our experience they fit most people well.
Excellent Suit, a great deal for the money!
By Julie from California on May 5, 2011
We were very satisfied with this product. Just one complaint. One of our suits, the extra-large one, did not come with the shoe covers. We used it anyway, but would have preferred to have the shoe covers also.
Pros:
Covers the entire body very well. I felt safe working in the dust and asbestos with it.
Cons:
The sleeves on the suit kept sliding up and uncovering our wrists. We had to keep puling the sleeves down again.
I would recommend this item to a friend.
Merchant Response:
Thanks for the feedback. Many of our customers use tape to keep the wrists from riding up and create an airtight barrier.
Good Product good price
By Mike Burke from Baltimore MD on April 19, 2011
These suits worked well for me and my helper. Everything fit together well and this company didn't nickel and dime me for extras. I felt protected and it was comfortable.
Pros:
The suit was complete
Cons:
I could have used a larger size but that was my fault
I would recommend this item to a friend.
It's applicable.

Service was good when I called in to check on and place the order. All-in-all it work well.
Pros:
Everything was included as a package.
Cons:
On some the suit feet wore out before the job was completely done. But that may have been the different surfaces that the were walked on throughout the project.
I would recommend this item to a friend.

Complete HAZMAT suit
By Judi from Indianapolis, IN on April 5, 2011
Great buy - convenient having all needed items in one package. Very reasonable price and speedy delivery! Perfect for demolition jobs for building rehab services, where lots of dust, mold, fiberglass, asbestos particles become airborne.
Pros:
One stop shopping!
Cons:
The item was great, but there were no instructions about how to return or exchange an item if needed.
I would recommend this item to a friend.
recommend
By Deborah from Wichita, KS on April 3, 2011
This is a great kit and a good bargain. Very easy to use and comfortable. My only recommendation would be for the arms to be longer. For jobs where you have to reach out (removing fibreglass insulation or similar) the sleeves would ride up my arm. The 2nd suit ripped first time on. I got large...I would get XL the next time. I am a 5'8", 200lb woman.
It was delivered when they said.
Pros:
Easy to use and comfortable
Cons:
Arms too short
I would recommend this item to a friend.
Good Deal
By Asbestos for the Rest-of-us from Tacoma, WA on February 14, 2011
We used these in the demo stages of gutting a 1950s bathroom. Respirators were a good price compared to [...] and you can't find the Tyvek suits there either. Tyvek suit gets hot, but it keeps you clean. Also, Medium fit everyone in my work group but me. I'm 5'10" and 160lbs and needed a large. The medium was too restricting when bending down and reaching. Maybe I just have longer than normal arms.
Pros:
Price, Quality, Everything You Need
Cons:
Tyvek suit gets hot
I would recommend this item to a friend.
Great Buy

Excellent fit and performance.
By Wanda from Bethlehem, PA on October 21, 2010
Product was used to remove old sheet rock and debris. Full-length zipper made ease of entry and removal. Completely covered body with enough room to enable you to work comfortably. Gloves were very comfortable and flexible. Goggles and mask were a very good fit.
[...] The lead and asbestos removal kit was exactly what I was looking for and performed exactly as I expected.
I would recommend this item to a friend.
Great, all-in-one kit!!
By troy. from Harrisburg PA on June 18, 2010
You can't beat the price of this package. And it's all quality stuff. The suit exceeded my expectations -- only a few tears here and there after a full day of crawling/rolling around on the rough concrete floor of my crawlspace. Gloves exceeded my expectations as well. Respirator worked well and fit my face; but I would suggest going to the next size if you have any hesitation whatsoever over the correct size. Goggles were not so great, I would go w/ the safety glasses next time.
