The purpose of an Air Filtration Panel is to convert shop air (used for pneumatic tools and equipment) into clean breathable air. Depending on the model you choose, they provide from 1 to 8 airline respirators a portable source of Grade D breathing air. The capacity varies, with up to 15, 30, 60 or 100 CFM of breathable air, and a pressure regulator adjustable from 5-125 psig.

The heart of this system is a 3-stage filtration system. The first component is a pre-filter that removes dirst, debris and scale that comes down the pipe from the shop air compressor. Second is a coalescing filter that precipitates oil and water out of the air stream. Third is a carbon filter. This absorbs bad odors, hopefully leaving the air pleasant to breath. The filters are a maintenance item, and can be replaced easily.

An electronic carbon monoxide (CO) sensor monitors the airflow. This is usually offered as an option, but we feel that using a CO monitor is mandatory unless you are REALLY SURE about the purity of the air source. While it does involve a bit of effort to calibrate and maintain the monitor, CO poisoning is (or can be) a slow process that workers may not be aware of. Reactions to excess CO are often mis-diagnosed, with tragic results.

The CO monitor can be operated from any 115V AC wall outlet or with a 9V battery in DC mode. An audible alarm activates when the concentration of CO exceeds 10 ppm. The pressure regulator includes a pressure gauge and adjustment knob with locking ring. A pressure relief valve protects the CO monitor and respirators in the event of regulator failure.

The Carry-Air AC/DC-powered unit from Allegro is housed in a rugged Pelican case for portability and protection. It includes a support stand for stability and up-right operation. An AC/DC powered Wall-Mount unit is also available, and has all the same features, just without the Pelican case. All models meet NIOSH requirements for point-of-attachment.
