3M L-501 Bumpcap Shield

The L-501 bumpcap with wide view faceshield assembly is a general purpose headgear which can be used for grinding, wet and dry chemical handling, spray painting, etc. This product uses a fabric faceseal on the wide view faceshield to provide the respiratory seal and therefore, is classified as a loose fitting facepiece. As such, it has a recognized APF of 25 x PEL. 3M does not recommend the use of the L-501 headgear with facial hair that interferes with the faceseal. Users should be clean-shaven where the respirator’s faceseal comes into contact with the user’s face. Failure to do so may reduce the effectiveness of the respirator and may result in sickness or death.

The bump cap is intended to be used in applications where protection from falling objects is not required, but a lightweight head cover is desired to protect the user from dust and other airborne particles. Safety glasses should be worn at all times when using this product. Sold by the each.
