3M 8110S Small Size Respirator Video Transcript

Hi, this is Rick Pedley and welcome to PK Safety. Today we’re gonna be looking at the 3M8110s disposable respirator. Now the “S” on this number means “small.” Small is for petite faces, very small facial features, very important distinction. I’ll just pull out the 8210 just to give you an idea, the 8210 is their most popular item and the difference in size is quite distinctive. You’ll notice how much smaller that is, big difference in size, definitely for petite folks, give you a sense, I’ll just put a hand behind, you can see there’s quite a big difference, other than that they’re very similar. Don’t want to confuse you, I’ll put this out of the way.

These masks are rated N95, so they’re gonna be good for things like dust, silica, that kind of thing. Wouldn’t use ‘em for lead or asbestos, or anything like that. They have two straps, these are elastic, they’re stapled on, I think that’s a good feature, it holds them on there pretty well. You have the typical 3M metal nose bridge, this is a soft aluminum bit that you can mold over your nose. They have a bit of foam in here to help get a good fit. You just pull this over the top like any other typical dust mask.

Comes in a box of twenty, pretty reasonable price, we sell quite a few of these, and very important to check your fit on these, any of these masks are only as good as the fit. The filter material is pretty cool, but if it gets around, it’s not being protective. Thank you.
