3M 6003 Organic Vapor / Acid Gas Cartridge

The 3M 6003 organic vapor / acid gas cartridge is intended to fit the 6000 and 7500 series half masks, and 6000 series full face mask respirators. The granulated charcoal absorbs organic vapors (i.e. solvents) and certain acid gases. Examples of these include chlorine (bleach), hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, or hydrogen sulfide (in escape conditions only) or hydrogen fluoride. Since many of these acid gases are potentially quite harmful, let us reinforce that your mask should fit properly and ideally be fit tested to insure that the cartridge is doing its job. Additionally, you should make an effort to learn what concentrations will be present. These cartridges can only go so far before they become overwhelmed. Adequate ventilation of the workspace goes a long way toward keeping acid gas concentrations low. Sold by the pair.
